I also live in Newmarket and came across your blog today. Interesting choice of links of politicians that you have.
I've been following Ron Paul for a while now and have taken time to understand the monetary system, and more importantly the critical flaw in it. It always fails at some point.
Ron Paul is correct when he says we are headed for an economic collapse. He is also believes that the USA will fall to facism when it happens. He will be correct there as well. If Hitler wrote the book on how to use Democracy against itself to steal a country, then the USA (Bush and company)is following the playbook to the letter.
The next 9-11 will likely coincide with the market crash to cloak the real reason for the economic collapse. Since our own Stephen Harper has sold us down the river by agreeing to allow US troops into Canada in the event of an 'emergency', we will become a facist police state as well.
Only true Libertarians will see it coming and make it through.
Mark P, it is nice to here from a traditional freedom loving paleo-conservative on these forums instead of the typical neo-con Ron Paul is a nut or nobody reponse. Americans will pay dearly for ignoring Ron Paul and for failing to understand their world apart from the neo-con versus left paradigm (both bad choices); Many Americans seem to be collectively ignorant about economics or the implications of what their government has been up to.
Unfortunately facism seems to be coming to both Canada and the US. In Canada we have the Human Rights Commisions, in the US they have the fear of Islam, and their collective grovelling at the feet of someone who pays lip service to Christianity or Christian principles despite their unconstitutional, unethical or otherwise questionable behaviour. (Although, "conservatives" in the US have behaved so badly that now the whole system might turn to the democrats and maybe they will have HRC's in the future as well.)
I appreciate both comments. If only Republicans and the media would listen to Ron Paul. I think most would side with his economic policies and positions on foreign affairs if the media gave him an opportunity to reach more people. The results in November and long term for the USA will prove this man should have been listened to.
Mark it is great to see a fellow Libertarian in Newmarket. Thanks for writing.

About Me
Darryl Wolk
Newmarket, Ontario, Canada
I was born in Kapuskasing, ON and moved to Newmarket in 1984. Both my parents are high school teachers. I have one sister Melissa. I attended St. Elizabeth Seton Elementary School, Sacred Heart High School and the University of Windsor where I did my MBA, BCOMM and BA in Political Science. I have worked in the past at King Valley Golf Club, World Wrestling Entertainment, Paramount Canada's Wonderland, Jonas Software and now work as a public affairs consultant.
In politics, I worked on my first campaign with Frank Klees. I started federally with the Reform Party and later held memberships in both the PC and Canadian Alliance parties prior to the merger. I worked on Belinda Stronach's leadership and local campaign prior to her crossing the floor. I have also worked on campaigns including Julia Munro, Lois Brown and various local candidates for mayor and council. I am active in the local community through the Rotary Club, Lions Club, various municipal committees, hold several memberships and participate in many charitable events. From time to time I appear as a political pundit in the media.
